where to stay in baguio

After the delectable late lunch over at Te Quiero, we proceeded to check in into our dwellings for the night. Just a few steps from the restaurant, with a hall that actually connects the two, is Microtel Baguio

THE ROOMS
(For the best discounted rates, check here.)
Located on a slope in Upper Session Road, just beside the Victory Liner terminal, the hotel boasts 92 well-appointed rooms that are designed for all kinds of travelers. These rooms are housed in a structure that looks so much like a dollhouse: pastel blue and framed with Baguio's ubiquitous pine trees.

The room we stayed in was a 2 Queen Beds Room. It has the signature Microtel window bench, and a pair beds with chiropractor-approved mattresses. It has a full-size bathroom, complete with hot-and-cold shower. What I love most about this room is that the windows look out to a beautiful view of Baguio's cityline. From here, I watched wisps of clouds slither through rooftops. The sky was a little overcast but it only added to the scene's charm.

Our room also has a door that connects to the adjacent room which happened to be where two of my companions were staying. We had it opened so we would all be together. Quite convenient!

THE RATES
Microtel Baguio offers three types of rooms: 2 Queen Beds Room – the one we stayed at, it has a published rate of Php4,750; 1 Queen Bed Room (Php4,250 published rate) which is like the first type only with just one bed; and the 1 Queen Bed Suite Room (Php5,500 published rate). THE AMENITIES
Microtel Baguio's greatest strength is its strategic location. It's literally just beside the Victory Liner terminal, affording guests accessibility to transportation to other parts of the North. There are also several nearby attractions like Burnham Park, and the Baguio Cathedral. Budget foodtrippers would also delight in the fact that there are many eateries just a few steps from the hotel.

The straightforward, thoughtful service of Microtel Baguio is sure to win over even the most jaded customer. The staff is, of course, courteous. They seem to sense when you need your quiet time, leaving you to amble around by yourself without judgment – which is very important for introverted extroverts such as myself.
