Angono Foodserye | Superb Food on a Budget at the Art Capital Cafe

Thursday, December 29, 2016

This was part of the first Angono Food and Art Crawl media tour organized by the Tourism Office of Angono.

There’s a snug and no-nonsense café that has inched its way through the hearts of Angono residents. Art Capital Café (ACC) may be small in size but its impeccable menu and homey ambiance more than make up for it.

Situated within the complex of a gasoline station alongside M. L. Quezon Avenue, near a residential subdivision, ACC is a nook of a café with bar stools and couches reminiscent of an old parlor. It’s decorated with colorful mason jars, tiny higantes papier mache, and an array of local artworks depicting Angono life. The aroma of brewing coffee fills the small space, instantly putting you in relaxed mode upon setting foot. If you’re looking for a date place or a somewhere to have an intimate conversation with a friend, this is the place to be.

Being owned by a certified barista, ACC’s specialty is their frappes. Flavors such as Milo Nitro, Blue Dragon, Butter Beer, Mocha Mint, Salted Caramel Mocha, and the much celebrated Matcha are all delicious and affordable for just Php100 an order.

Pair these sweet concoctions with ACC’s savory offerings such as their take on chicken wings (Php125) which comes in two flavors – Parmesan, and spicy. The servings are quite skimpy, just about 4 pieces, but both flavors are incredibly delicious and leave you wanting more.

There is also the Cheese Burger Shots (Php100) that comes with side of potato wedges – which you can order ala carte for Php110.

If you’re tagging your barkada along, opt for this pair of menu items that’s perfect for sharing: Clubhouse Sandwich (Php115), and Nachos (Php95). Both are packed with flavors and won’t leave your pocket with a gaping hole.

One of ACC’s greatest advantage is how it serves its food so tastefully. Sometimes, a nice set of cutlery and plates (or chopping boards) are all you need. The food really becomes the star because of how it is presented.

The staff are also courteous and serving time is fairly reasonable. They make you feel welcome and relaxed!

ACC can be defined as affordable high quality food. I am so glad we have such a place in Angono!

There are jeepneys and commuter vans to Angono in Cubao Farmer’s Market (beside Telus), Robinsons Galleria, SM Megamall, Star Mall (Mandaluyong), and EDSA Central. One can also take the LRT Line 2 and alight at the Santolan Terminal where there is a van terminal to Angono. There are also jeepneys to Angono that pass by here, but if it's rush hour you can then take a jeep to Sta. Lucia Mall where there is a jeep terminal to Angono.

Once on a jeepney with an "Angono" (Binangonan) signboard, get off at "San Martin". Your landmarks will be a McDonald's and a Caltex gas station. Walk your way towards Caltex. There's a 7/11. ACC is just beside the convenience store.
