A Review of Famous Inn Tagaytay

Tuesday, May 13, 2014

For our Tagaytay Adventure, we decided to spend the night at Famous Inn.

It was still March when we booked an econo fan room for 800pesos for an overnight stay. We paid a 500-peso deposit via bank payment before having our reservation finalized. We settled the balance upon getting there.

It was almost nine in the evening when we reached the budget hotel. We immediately proceeded to the information area and was a bit irked when the people there was discourteous and unwelcoming. I just mentally loop-played my mantra of wag pumatol sa mas mahina to avoid any unnecessary confrontations. But just for the record, you're in the hospitality business so it is only fitting that you be hospitable.

At any rate, the room we got was pretty decent. Nothing fancy. A bed, cable tv and a bathroom with a heater. The walls were not soundproof though. We could hear voices from outside. But you know, what do you expect for an 800-peso room.

Also, they start serving breakfast at 6am which was a bit of an inconvenience for us since we were scheduled to have our Taal Trek at that time.

Anyhow, we had no major concerns during our stay in Famous Inn. A reminder though: insist that you'll only pay for an econo fan room since I think all rooms have AC.

How to get there
From Olivarez, ride a jeep bound to People's Park. Get off at the Tagaytay Science High School (it'll be on your left side). There will be a signage on the adjacent street and there you'd have to walk several steps to get to the place.
